Kyle Turns 7

One of my friend Deb's 500 kids Kyle turned 7 last week. Here is the centerpiece I made for her party table and also the afghan I made for his gift. Turns out Kyle is a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and loved the colors I chose because they remind him of Cowboys colors!

Love to Crochet!

I love to crochet. It keeps me occupied when I am watching TV. Here are a few of the items that I crocheted last year. I really enjoy making gifts for friends and hope they enjoy them as much as I do. Thanks for looking!

Happy Birthday Mady Moo!

Our friends Deb and Ed's youngest Mady turned 1 on June 8th so for her birthday party, I made this paper cake using Tags Bags Boxes & More. If you don't already have this cartridge, get it before they are all gone. Cricut is retiring it. I made the tag using Accent Essentials. The text was done using my old Journaling Genie software that I had forgotten all about. I love the color scheme Deb used for the party!

Retirement Party

I have been hard at work the past few days trying to create a few requested decorations for a teacher's retirement dinner. The them is "journey" for the journey they are about to embark on. They wanted the centerpieces to be a compass so I created this paper compass. Instead of the normal North South East & West, the tabs say Read a Book, Go on a Cruise, Volunteer, Visit Old Friends, Learn a New Skill, Set Off for a New Adventure, Pursue Your Passions & Take a Nap. I also created more sour cream containers with a travel paper that I just love. The tag says Best Wishes for Your Retirement. There is also going to be a joint dinner with the Science and Art teachers so I also threw in these frogs with artist brush and pallette which I created with Create a Critter and Locker Talk.

Graduation Explosion Box

For my nephew's present, I made this graduation explosion box. It was fun and simple to make. One of the last pages has an envelope that I cut out a dollar sign for and put some cash inside. He really appreciated it.

Graduation Part 2

Here are some more decorations that I made for my nephew's graduation. I couldn't believe how easy the sour cream containers were to make.

My Nephew's Graduation

My eldest nephew Kenny graduates from high school tomorrow night. Time flies so fast. I remember getting the call on my birthday announcing his arrival. He had to wait so we could share our birthdays! My sister and two families of friend's of my nephew threw the boys a graduation party over the weekend. I wanted to help as much as possible and surprised my sister with these decorations. I copied ideas from other blogs and made them my own with Kenny's school colors. Next year, my youngest nephew graduates. Gotta get some more ideas!

A Finished Project

Well, I finally finished a project that I started. Usually, I start them and get to a point and don't finish. My friend Debbie's son turned 9 yesterday and they are having a Nerf party for him on Sunday. I thought it would be fun to make her a centerpiece for her table for the party. I saw samples of centerpieces on the Cricut messageboard and decided to make my own. I mainly used my Celebrations cartridge. And the best thing is, next year, all that has to be changed is the number! I hope she likes it.
